The most liveable city in the world
In 2020, Vienna has been named the world's most livable city for the 11th time in a row by the Mercer agency. Vienna owes its renewed top ranking to its excellent infrastructure with a well-developed and reliable network of public transportation, water quality and health care, as well as countless cultural and educational opportunities. Vienna also scores highly for its low crime rate and excellent range of high quality housing and leisure facilities.
Vienna's Major Michael Ludwig: "The highest quality of life worldwide is not a matter of course, but hard earned. Vienna is not resting on its laurels and will continue to work to ensure that all Viennese, regardless of income or origin, can share the high standard of living in the city." (source: wien.gv.at)
